  2. Make Holes for Twine:

    • Make two holes exactly opposite to each other near the cut edge of the bottle.

    • Thread twine through these holes and tie a knot to secure it.

  3. Drainage Holes:

    • Poke a few additional drainage holes in the bottle for better aeration and drainage.

Step 3: Planting the Seedling

  1. Insert the Seedling:

    • Slide the tomato plant through the small mouth of the bottle.

    • Remove any large leaves to prevent damage and position the plant with the root ball as close to the top of the bottle as possible.

  2. Fill with Soil Mix:

    • Prepare a soil mix with equal parts garden soil and compost.

    • Hold the root ball in place and fill the rest of the bottle with the soil mix, leaving a one to two-inch gap between the rim of the bottle and the soil surface for efficient watering

Step 4: Hanging and Care

  1. Hang the Planter:

    • Ensure your planter hangs straight down and does not tilt to one angle.

  2. Watering and Sunlight:

    • Water the tomato seedlings well after planting.

    • Hang them where they can get four to six hours of direct sunlight daily for good growth and health.

Enjoy your new vertical garden and watch your tomatoes thrive even in limited space!
