Step 2: Prepare the Pot

Take a well-drained pot with drainage holes at the bottom. Cover the holes with small stones or gravel to improve drainage, then fill the pot with the prepared potting mix.

Step 3: Prepare the Chillies

Select some healthy and overripe chillies. Overripe chillies usually turn red. Cut the chillies into two pieces from the middle.

Step 4: Plant the Seeds

You have two options for planting:

  1. Whole Pieces: Place the cut pieces of chilli directly onto the potting mix.

  2. Extracted Seeds: Remove the seeds from the chilli pieces and sprinkle them evenly on the potting mix.

Step 5: Cover and Water

Cover the chilli pieces or seeds with a fine layer of potting mix. Water the soil thoroughly to ensure it is evenly moist.

Step 6: Provide Proper Conditions

Place the pot in a location with partial shade. Keep the potting mix moist at all times, but avoid waterlogging.

Step 7: Germination

After 6 to 8 days, the seeds will start to germinate. You will see tiny seedlings emerging from the soil.
